Representatives of the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of the Uzbek delegation took part in the seminar on topical problems of improvement of civil legislation, organized by the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) on December 10-20, 2023 in Tokyo.
The aim of the seminar was to improve national legislation through comparative study of civil legislation of Japan and Uzbekistan.
The event included lectures and discussions on such issues as protection of private property rights, legislative regulation of private legal entities and public organizations, enforcement of obligations and atypical contracts, copyright protection for the results of intellectual activity created with the use of artificial intelligence.
During the seminar Japanese experts expressed their opinion on the importance of continuous improvement of the Civil Code taking into account modern trends in the development of social relations. The necessity of deep elaboration, thorough scientific analysis and competent expert support of this process was noted.
The event also included a number of meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, Tokyo District Court, Center for International Civil and Commercial Law, Research and Education Institute, JICA to discuss the current status and prospects for further cooperation between the parties.
