On July 11 this year the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan hosted a meeting with Zeynal Hajiyev, Sub-Regional Coordinator of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) for Central Asia, Chief of the IOM mission in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan.
During the meeting the participants discussed topical issues of migration policy, development and implementation of legal and regulatory acts in the field of migration, as well as IOM projects being implemented in the Central Asian region on the impact of crisis phenomena on migration processes, the impact of migration on the socio-economic development of countries, the links between climate change and migration.
As a result of the meeting, agreements were reached to establish further co-operation between ILLP and IOM in areas of mutual interest.
