General information
The Scientific Coordination Council at the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established in accordance with the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on December 29, 2022, No. PD-462 “On the organization of activities of the Institute of Legislative and Legal Policy under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan”.
The main purpose of the Scientific Coordination Council is to help the Institute to support the activities of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the formation and implementation of legal policy from a scientific, informational and analytical point of view.
The priority areas of the Scientific Coordination Council are:
– assistance in analyzing and forecasting the progress of implementation of state strategic programs, the effectiveness of their legal provision;
– preparation of proposals, constitutional reports and program drafts on the issues of improving legislation, law enforcement practice in socio-economic, socio-political, government legal spheres;
– scientific-practical, information-analytical substantiation of draft resolutions of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on socio-political, socio-economic development issues;
– organization of a comparative, systematic study of the experience of formation and implementation of legislation and legal policy of developed countries, development of proposals for its use in the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The composition of Scientific Coordination Council is consisted of 78 people, 34 of them are senior officials of ministries and agencies, 36 are experts from educational and research institutions, 8 are independent experts and representatives of civil society organizations.
At the same time, 27 of the total number of members of the Council are Doctors of Science, 12 are Candidates of Science (PhD).
The composition of the Scientific Coordination Council was approved by the Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on social and political developments.
