On March 28 this year, the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy organized a meeting with the Permanent Representative of the United Nations Development Program in Uzbekistan, Ms. Matilda Dimovska.
Up-to-date information on the implementation of constitutional reforms and preparation in Uzbekistan was brought to the attention of the interlocutor to hold a national referendum on the updated draft of the Basic Law of the country.
In this context, she was informed about the international conference on the topic “The essence and significance of Constitutional reform: New Uzbekistan – Updated Constitution”, scheduled for April 17-18th of this year in Tashkent.
The speaker was provided with information about the tasks of the Institute, in particular, in the field of administrative reform carried out in the country.
To facilitate the successful implementation of administrative reforms, the head of UNDP proposed to strengthen cooperation within the framework of joint implementation of projects of international structures, aimed at developing an effective model of public administration.
Regarding the prospects of establishing cooperation between ILLP and UNDP, M.Dimovska proposed to explore the possibility of developing cooperation in such areas as anti-corruption, public administration and capacity development of local government bodies, personnel training, etc.
