On May 15 this year in Tashkent the chief researcher of the Institute professor A.Akilov took part in the meeting of representatives of the involved ministries and departments of the republic with the delegation of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) headed by the expert of the Directorate of Public Administration Simon Callevart.
During the event, organised by the Agency for Strategic Reforms with the financial support of the German Society for International Cooperation, a comprehensive analysis of the system of strategic planning of public administration in Uzbekistan was conducted.
At the meeting the OECD experts noted that in strategic planning it is important to ensure that the timeframe of the state strategy is consistent with sectoral and regional strategies, as well as strategic communication, which ensures the unity of actions of the government and other actors in the implementation of strategic programmes and the broad participation of civil society in this process.
The OECD representatives also stressed the need to separate the process of development and implementation of strategic programmes from the process of monitoring and evaluation of their effectiveness, determination of achievable strategic priorities, proper distribution of their priority and funds allocated for their implementation.
