On August 16 of this year, a meeting was held at the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy with the Program Manager of the Bureau of Counterterrorism of the US Department of State Ms. Grace Mason.
The aim is to exchange views on the issues of ensuring the rule of law, human rights, religious tolerance and the prevention of extremism in the framework of the implementation of constitutional reforms, establishing mutual partnership and organizing joint events.
G.Mason was informed about the main provisions of the constitutional reforms carried out in the country, the large-scale measures taken to accelerate the development of various spheres of society and the state, the cardinal improvement of the socio-economic life of the population, efforts to combat security threats.
G. Mason highly appreciated that the updated Constitution defines Uzbekistan as a legal, social, secular state, and also expressed confidence in the success of further implementation of this constitutional norm. She emphasized the focus of the country’s Basic Law on ensuring human rights.
