On January 28, 2026, the Chief Research Fellow of the ILLP, Sh. Zokirov, took part as a speaker in a scientific and practical seminar on anti-corruption and internal control issues held at O‘zlitineftgaz Joint-Stock Company.
The event was organised as part of efforts to ensure the implementation of priority tasks in the fight against corruption, as outlined in the Address of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan.
The main objective of the seminar was to comprehensively explain to employees the essence and significance of legislative updates and regulatory legal acts, ensure transparency in the organization’s activities, develop the internal control system, and enhance the legal awareness of staff.
During the seminar, the substance and significance of the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Conflict of Interest” and “On Public Procurement” were widely discussed. Special attention was also paid to the powers and responsibilities of compliance unit staff, ensuring the independence of internal anti-corruption control units, and increasing the effectiveness of their activities.
In addition, practical explanations were provided regarding the requirements established to strengthen the competitive environment and ensure transparency in the public procurement system, as well as the procedure for concluding fixed-term and open-ended employment contracts and civil law contracts when hiring candidates.
At the conclusion of the seminar, a question-and-answer session was held with participants, during which additional clarifications were provided on issues related to the practical application of legislative requirements.
Such events undoubtedly contribute to improving legal literacy, fostering an uncompromising attitude toward corruption, and further strengthening the internal control system.
