From 24 February to 5 March this year, a delegation from Uzbekistan consisting of representatives of the ILLP, the Administration of the President, the Supreme Court, the Ministry of Justice, the High School of Judges and the TSUL, participated in a training seminar on improving civil legislation, organized by JICA with technical assistance of the Government of Japan.

The purpose of the event was to familiarize participants with Japan’s advanced experience in improving legislation and law enforcement practices in the field of civil law.

During the seminar, participants attended lectures by Japanese experts in civil law and studied issues such as acceptance and renunciation of inheritance, reconciliation in legal proceedings, compensation for moral damage, protection of property rights and other rights in rem, use and expropriation of land, and the development of rules for the responsible use of artificial intelligence.

In order to inform the Japanese side about the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of modernizing national civil legislation, representatives of the Uzbek delegation made relevant presentations on various aspects of this process.

As part of the event, participants visited the Tokyo District Court and the Research and Training Institute of the Ministry of Justice of Japan, where they learned about the current activities and research conducted by these institutions.

At the end of the training seminar, participants were presented with certificates.
