On March 25-26 of this year, in Tashkent, the Head of a Sector of ILLP, Professor B.Ismailov, took part in the international forum Tashkent Water Week 2026 on the topic “Technologies and Innovations in Water Resource Management. Central Asia and the Global Water Cycle.” The forum was organized at the initiative of the Government of Uzbekistan with the support of the Ministry of Water Resources, the international exhibition company Iteca Exhibitions, the Center for Progressive Reforms, and the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers.

The forum brought together more than 1200 participants from about 20 countries and addressed issues related to deepening reforms in the water sector, developing sustainable strategies and strengthening partnerships between business, government, and international institutions in this sphere.

Participants widely discussed the modernization of irrigation infrastructure, improving water use efficiency, and the introduction of water-saving technologies in agriculture.

Special attention was paid to the application of digital technologies, including monitoring systems, big data, and artificial intelligence in water resource management.

The event demonstrated the high potential for implementing intelligent water management systems.

The importance of coordination among Central Asian countries in managing transboundary water resources was emphasized, including data sharing and the implementation of joint projects.

The need for widespread adoption of modern irrigation methods, automation of hydraulic structures, and water reuse was also highlighted.

The forum contributed to the development of international scientific cooperation, strengthening educational programs, and building new professional competencies.

Overall, the event became one of the key expert platforms dedicated to sustainable water resource management, the introduction of innovative technologies, and the strengthening of regional cooperation.
