On October 22, 2024 the Institute had a meeting with Mr. Douglas Wake, the Head of the OSCE Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights Election Observation Mission.

During the meeting views were exchanged on innovations in national legislation aimed at further democratisation and liberalisation of social and state building, in particular the constitutional reform undertaken in the country and the measures taken to strengthen the role of the Parliament.

The international observers were also informed about the reforms aimed at improving the national electoral legislation, in particular the introduction of a mixed electoral system, the improvement of the functioning and strengthening of the independence of the electoral commissions, the expansion of gender representation in the nomination of candidates for deputy and the digitalisation of the electoral process.

At the end of the meeting, the parties agreed on the importance of continuing the democratization of the electoral process and electoral legislation, as well as ensuring the transparency and openness of the electoral process and the comprehensive implementation of citizens’ electoral rights.
