Professor K.Rashidov, Head of the Sector of Legislation in the Economic Sphere of the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy under the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, took part in the XII Petersburg International Legal Forum (PILF), held on 26-28 June this year on the theme: ‘Law – the basis of global balance’.
PILF is an annual business event created in 2011 on the initiative of the Ministry of Justice and with the support of the President of the Russian Federation to discuss topical legal issues in the context of global social and economic challenges. The Forum is attended by top officials, leading global experts, including heads of legal departments of major global companies, and representatives of the international legal community.
The Forum programme included more than 120 events attended by about 5000 specialists from 81 countries.
Speaking at the session ‘Regulation of Economic Relations in the CIS and EAEU: New Challenges and Ways of Overcoming’, Professor K.Rashidov informed the participants of the event on the progress of work being carried out in Uzbekistan to improve the national civil legislation, in particular, on the main provisions of the Concept of Improvement of Civil Legislation of Uzbekistan and on the activities of the Interdepartmental Commission on Improvement of Civil Legislation. He emphasised that the updated Constitution of Uzbekistan has enriched the national legislation with such legal institutions as private ownership of land, principles of social justice and solidarity, which should be taken into account in improving the Civil Code of the country.
At the end of the event, the participants exchanged views on issues of interest to them.
