On June 16 of this year, leading researchers of the ILLP D.Doniyorov and I.Oblokulov attended a session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
During the session, a number of draft laws aimed at improving legislation in the social, judicial-legal, consumer protection and water management sectors were reviewed.
In particular, a draft law on the status of military personnel and their social protection was discussed. The draft provides guarantees for financial, medical, housing, and pension support, as well as compensation in cases of injury or death.
Amendments to the Criminal Procedure Code and the Law “On Advocacy” were also considered. These amendments are aimed at strengthening the principle of adversarial proceedings in criminal cases and expanding the procedural rights of lawyers.
In the field of consumer protection, amendments to the Code of Administrative Responsibility were supported to strengthen liability for the sale of goods with expired shelf life or without mandatory labeling of expiration dates.
Changes to the Water Code were also discussed, предусматривающие the introduction of automated electronic registration of water use agreements to simplify procedures and improve the efficiency of public services.
In addition to reviewing draft laws, the session heard information from the Minister of Justice on measures to protect the rights of citizens and businesses in the field of intellectual property, including the development of electronic services and simplification of registration procedures.
