On June 10 of this year, in Tashkent, chief research fellow of ILLP, G. Sattarova, participated in a session of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The event was attended by representatives of government bodies, the expert community, academic and educational institutions, as well as media representatives.

During the session, the issue of compliance of certain provisions of the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Advocacy” with the Constitution was discussed.

The discussion focused primarily on ensuring the right to qualified legal assistance, equality of all forms of ownership, and improving the legal regulation of advocacy in Uzbekistan.

After hearing the opinions of the parties, specialists, and experts on the matter under discussion, the Constitutional Court concluded that a unified position could only be reached after a deeper examination of the issue and a comprehensive analysis of the case materials.

ILLP continues to actively participate in the expert support of ongoing legal reforms and the development of constitutional and legal dialogue.
