From May 19 to 23 in St.Petersburg, scientific secretary A. Rasulev and chief researcher R. Uygunov participated in the 13th St. Petersburg International Legal Forum and the 11th Nevsky International Ecological Congress.

These events are among the largest and most authoritative discussion platforms, bringing together government, scientific, business, youth, and environmental community representatives from around the world. The events reflect current challenges and priorities in lawmaking, judicial reform, digitalization, the moral and legal agenda, ecology, and environmental safety.

These events primarily aimed to promote the development of legal culture and international legal cooperation, as well as the harmonization of environmental legislation.

As part of the forum, several key sessions were held to address the interests of citizens and businesses, improve law enforcement practices, and promote legislative initiatives to regulate the socioeconomic and environmental spheres in modern conditions.

During the events, experts presented interesting theses from the perspective of legal science, such as:

– law making should be based on moral guidelines, national traditions, and legal awareness, rejecting uncritical borrowing of external models.

– civil society should not be an observer but an active participant in environmental policy, with its role institutionally enshrined.

– youth initiatives should be integrated into the sustainable development strategy as a full-fledged element.

Representatives of the ILLP established contacts with leading experts from several foreign scientific and educational institutions on the sidelines of these events.
