On April 15, 2026, the ILLP hosted an international seminar focusing on capacity building in the field of strategic planning and policy coordination.

The event was organized jointly with the Agency for Strategic Development and Reforms, the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), within the framework of the second phase of the OECD project on Public Governance Review in Uzbekistan.

The objective of the seminar was to strengthen the capacity of key government institutions in strategic planning, interagency coordination, and the effective implementation of national priorities.

During the event, participants discussed the development of a unified and integrated strategic planning system – ranging from national strategies to the performance indicators of ministries and agencies – the institutionalization of results-based management mechanisms, and the development of high-quality and measurable performance indicators.

Special attention was given to studying advanced international practices and adapting them to the national system of public administration.

Participants were also presented with the results of ILLP’s research activities on developing and improving the regulatory and methodological framework for local governance and strategic planning.

Following the seminar, further steps were identified to strengthen the architecture of strategic planning, improve the system of performance indicators, and develop sustainable coordination mechanisms among relevant government bodies.
