On May 13 of this year in Minsk, the Head of Sector of the ILLP, Professor K.Rashidov took part as part of the Uzbek delegation in the Second CIS International Legal Forum, held to mark the 35th anniversary of the establishment of the Commonwealth.
The event was organised by the Belarusian MFA in conjunction with the CIS Executive Committee on the theme ‘International Legal Dialogue in the CIS: Traditions of Cooperation and Responses to Contemporary Challenges’.
The forum was attended by heads of the treaty and legal departments of the foreign ministries of the CIS countries, representatives of the Commonwealth’s statutory bodies, leading experts and prominent scholars in the field of international law.
During the event, participants discussed the specific features of contemporary international legal policy in CIS states, new branches and directions of development in international law, international law within the legal education system, the law of regional integration, and the development of dispute resolution mechanisms.
Speaking at the forum, a representative of the ILLP noted the practical significance of international legal dialogue as a key mechanism for the further development of partnership and the strengthening of mutual trust among the CIS countries.
Following the event, participants concluded that international law plays a vital role in ensuring sustainable development and maintaining peace and security.
Overall, the forum served as an effective platform for discussing topical issues related to the further development of legal cooperation within the CIS.
