On 23 January, the Institute of Legislation and Legal Policy hosted a meeting with Mr Andrew Gray, Head of the IOM Mission in Uzbekistan.
Current cooperation and its prospects were discussed. The head of IOM highly appreciated the reforms in Uzbekistan, including in the sphere of demography and migration. The importance of involving relevant agencies in this work was noted. Mr Gray expressed confidence that joint research will have a positive impact on the country’s development.
The outcome of the meeting was the signing of a Memorandum of understanding on research, organisation of events, staff development and improvement of migration policy.
The conclusion of this Memorandum is an important step in deepening mutually beneficial cooperation between the Institute and IOM, opening up new opportunities for joint research and expert-analytical activities.
